He reports that no one has replied to him. I did tell him that most with the
license would probably be attending LDRS.

What an interesting post. Particularly because of Terry’s job.
I wonder why he doesn’t want to just go to the August ROC launch, after all,
the weather is probably not going to be any different. Or, FAR; that launch
is just the next weekend.
Curious if anyone knows Terry. I’m interested in helping and wouldn’t ask
for any compensation, but I’m not sure about the need for a special launch.
What do others think about this? Has anyone already contacted him?
Thank you,

Hello Gary,
Greetings from Arizona! By way of introduction, my name is Terry White.
I live in Oro Valley, Arizona which, is situated in the northwest sector
of Tucson. I am a member of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR
11184), the Southern Arizona Rocketry Association (SARA), and
incidentally, the Rocketry Organization of California (ROC). I have been
flying rockets out at Lucerne Dry Lake since Saturday, 06 August 1966.
Note that I am currently HPR Level 1 certified and working towards Level 2
certification.
My purpose in contacting you is to ask for your assistance in finding a
pyrotechnic operator. I have secured FAA clearance (COA: WSA-2124-RKT-REV
1) to fly out at Lucerne on Saturday, 31 July 2021. We are cleared for
flight ops to 4,000 feet AGL with a maximum of six (6) HPR launches taking
place between 0600 and 1300. Each vehicle will be powered by either a
single "H" or "I" rocket motor.
I am aware that California safety regs require that a pyrotechnic operator
be onsite during HPR flight ops. Could you introduce me to the person or
persons within ROC who are pyrotechnic operators? I am happy to cover the
person's expenses for the trip to, time at, and return trip from the dry
lake. As a tangible show of my gratitude for their assistance, they will
receive compensation in the amount of two-hundred dollars ($200).
In closing, I only come out to Lucerne once a year. We typically fly "F"
and "G" powered mid-power rocket motors, but I would really like to fly
"H" and "I" powered HPR rocket motors at my all-time favorite launch site.
At 71 years of age, my days of coming out to Lucerne to fly rockets are
numbered. Any assistance you can render in securing a pyrotechnic
operator on this occasion would be most appreciated!
Thank you for your time and assistance!
Terry White
