Magic Land of Allakazam 50th Anniversary

For one thing, we recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of our
television show The Magic Land of Allakazam, which debuted on the CBS network
October 1, 1960. As you may remember, this was the first magic show ever on
network television and helped to blaze the way for a number of today's
well-known magicians.
My talented son Greg Wilson created a terrific Facebook Community Page in
tribute to the Allakazam legacy. I hope you will check it out. Click the

There is an incredible welath of stories about those exciting years at
CBS that I look forward to sharing with you in future Newsletters. In the

Magic Castle Hollywood Has Best Year Ever

As you probably know, Nani and I live in Los Angeles and are two of the
few remaining founding members of the Magic Castle/Academy of Magical Arts.
This has been a terrific year for the Magic Castle. For one thing, our
new entertainment director, Jack Goldfinger, has been doing a terrific job.
This was a particularly difficult accomplishment for Jack, because he had to
follow the always spectacular and often baffling acts presented last year
at the Castle by our previous entertainment director, Max Maven.
But of equal importance, November and December last year were, by far,
the best attended, biggest moneymaking months in the 47 year history of that
wonderful place.
If you put it all together... an incredible location in the middle of
Hollywood, only one block away from the Kodak theater where the Academy Awards
are presented every year; our guests experiencing the Castles memorable
magical ambience through their entire visit; outstanding performances of
magic in every show room; delicious food and excellent service everywhere you
go within the facility... are the reasons why the Magic Castle/Academy of
Magic Arts has been able to achieve these outstanding goals.

On another magical subject, the beautiful and spectacular Siegfried and
Roy book arrived today which is undoubtedly the most elaborate printed
volume I have ever seen in my entire life. (It is not just a book, it is
actually a collection! I've got to take a week off so I can go through it).
When
you open the custom-made box in which the book resides, the first thing you
find are a pair of white gloves, which you feel you should don before you
proceed with the book itself. (It took a genius to think of this).
When you do open the book, you find it's a beautifully printed volume,
it's many pages filled with, not only color pictures and many of Siegfried
and Roy's memories and accomplishments over the years, but also many items…
programs, ads, DVDs, etc. attached to the covers and pages of the book. And
then, underneath the book, you find a "secret compartment" containing many
more items…..WOW!
The Siegfried and Roy book will become, if it is not already, a valuable
collector’s item. Remember only 500 will be published, so if you've got any
spare cash ($595), the Siegfried and Roy book would not only be exciting
to possess, but will, unquestionably, become a profitable investment.
