Hey, as you guys know, I don't play list cop here.
but might I gently suggest that lots of folks here are busy, I know DJx is.
He runs a business like I do, and I know he is kind and patient, but
time is valuable and it takes a lot of time to teach this stuff.
There are plenty of lists for basic pc issues.
Might I suggest that if anyone needs extensive help with something,
DJx tutors and does system level stuf for hire, we do a lot of the
same stuff, but he does
es more system building than I do.
with the studio so busy these days, i just make decissions for stuff
that works, I don't have time to tinker as much.
Also, after a certain point, low level hardware and software issues
get boring sometimes.
We didn't want rigid lines, but the name of the list does imply
gently what it's for.
Atleast in theory anyway, and to have fun and have a safe place to be
a human being.
We also strongly encourage our folks who do business here to ply
their wares freely.
I know it's hard when you need help, but this is a very valuable list
because some of the best brains in the biz are here, and I don't want
them to get over-whelmed.
YOu can't make everyone happy of course, one of my students who I've
rather not have left the list left when it got busier, and that's ok,
he's one of my regulars, and he wasn't mad or anything, just busy.
djx, , if I'm talking out of turn here, just tell me it's ok, and if
everyone else is ok with it,
then I won't worry about it.
I guess what I'm getting at is that it's ok to ask questions, but
maybe consider not over taxing the list and expecting too much.
Roy and tom are extremely kind and patient and giving too, but I do
respect their time, and I could call old tom up and mooch programming
tricks off of him all day if I'd let myself.
But I'd rather save up the money and pay him 10 or 20 grand to script
a great program for me to make music with 'grin'.
Mr. Tom has already been exceedingly kind in doing some personal
coding for me, which I haven't forgotten about,
and plan to repay in kind, maybe with some sonar help, or what ever.
At any rate, for what it's worth, I'd like to lighten things up a bit
and talk about music.
What exciting stuff is anyone working on right now?
I've just finished Terry Scrack's commemorative family album.
I've created and mixed 5 songs in the last 3 days, as well as
transfered 12 cassettes to cd, grunt work, but still, work is work.
I bet ya Gudrun's
probably doing about 10 things at once,
and if I know Roy,
he's making some cool electronic music.
Little sister Meagan is working on an album too, she wants to get it
done before her grandma leaves this world.
and I'm just itching to get to help her with it.
She has the lovliest voice.
And for just the little bit of training she's gotten, she's accomplished a lot.
We're only talking 6 or 8 hours, but she's sequencing and recording,
and making stuff happen with sonar 8.
I just get off so much when people take what they know and do
something with it.
This makes being a teacher very rewarding.
My wife also has some cool suff on the back burner we're going to get
to during the holidays, lord willing.
If she doesn't fill me up so full of christmas goodies, I'm like a
big budda resting in a diabetic stupor on my big belly 'grin'.
Right now, I'm just glad this album is done, done, done.
I've got another one waiting for me half done to get back on, but the
pressure is off for the moment.
Anyway, what the other big christmas projects going on around here?
and hey, Ross,
what does your ahk guru charge and is he willing to do deals with
other poor struggling blind studio owners besides your priveleged self 'grin'?
I can do some of my own, but having those eye balls can sure speed
things up, and I may want some help with some of these lightscribe apps.
I think it's time we found some sighted programmer resources, not
that we don't have excellent code guys right here, but as we all know
in reality, sometimes a picture is worth a thousand lines of code 'grin',
especially when your trying to figure out what the heck is going on.
I have to really hand it to ross for pioneering and finding his own
fixes and work arounds on the free market.
I certainly don't have piles of cash laying around, but this is what
it's all about,
spreading the wealth around, trading services, and having a resource
rich and ready to work community and networking going on.

Disk Manager can also create partitions, even logical drives.
Do I need to image already installed software onto the partition I
want it on, or is there some way in DiskPart or Disk Manager to
select the already installed software to go into a particular partition?
I'd rather not un install and re install things like the sound
card's software, now that the sound card is up and working correctly.
