First of all sorry for the cross posting.
When did it become ok for the so called leaders in the Blind or V.I.
community to make these broad judgment calls.
Why can't there be a button to tern the axes traffic lights on or off.
All I would need to know is if this signal is or isn't going to help me.
can't it just tern on when I push the button.
So just like with the d.v.s. argument it's a matter of choice, thing.
Don't want d v s, don't use it. Don't want talking or beeping stop lights
then don't use them.
Think the money can be better used on other projects, well then fund them
yourselves.
No one has the write to dictate to anyone what they have to do.
They Shirley have the write to express there views, offer examples and then
allow others to respond.
That's a much more useful dialog then what often happens in these types of
disagreements.
We get so busy making our views herd, that we sometimes don't listen or
truly know what the other person is talking about.
So I am asking myself, What has to happen for all of us in the Blind and
V.I.community to be united once and for all.
Why has it become ok for the us VS Them attitude and name calling to creep
into our lives.
I am publicly appealing to the Missouri chapters of the N.F.B. A.C.B. and
all kc groups that help the disabled to use any means possible to work
together towards resolving this matter asap.
First steps for the blind is starting to work on this too. I understand
from the email I read that The Whole Person has been working on this as
well. I am pretty shore that the N.F.B kc chapter has also had a voice on
this.
Now we just need to pull it all together so we can be herd as one voice.
A good friend of mine who is not on this list once said to me, Blind people
are real good at hell razing. he was Wright. However hell razing sometimes
will not get us what we need.
It just feels good to do, but it acts like a steam roller and just hardens
the other persons views.
I am shore that by now the city is well where of what happened to chip.
The question is what is the city going to do about it? I can't help but ask
myself, Why is it taking so long to effect positive change? I guess my
answer lies in my words above. Our efforts are split, because we are split
it puts the persons that are wishing to help us on the spot.
No matter what they do, there is a group that will be unhappy.
I pray that we can make it easier for them to make us all feel herd and
maybe 80% happy.
I plan to reach out to all of the kc Blind groups in the next few weeks so
we can be a united front on this.
I never again want any of my Blind brothers and sisters to die while
crossing a busy street because the stop light wasn't accessible.
Donold Trump wrote in his book called How to kic ass in business and life
"when it comes to solving a problem,I don't waste time foccosing on it, I
already know what the problem is, I look for a salusion."
I feel that this is the best way to handel any problems.
