Just for reference, the programs that handled the moon landing was a
custom os/program, (it had to be), there was no such thing as commercial
operating systems then, unix was the primary os, and even that was only
for large mainframe type systems. The spacecraft that went to the moon
was custom, from start to finish, built specifically for the moon
landing job. I don't know what nasa uses these days for their
spacecraft, but you're probably right that it isn't windows. On the
other hand, I doubt it's a commercial linux distribution either.
Linux has many distributions, some of them are commercial companies,
others are not, so unlike microsoft, who retains control over windows,
there is no single company you can point to and say that's the linux
company, there's no such thing, and that makes a difference when you're
discussing usage cases.
As for espeak, I have no issue with it, it does the job, and sometimes,
that's all that's necessary.

3. Its kind of funny you said that Micro$oft and Apple are million dollar
companies, yes while that is true, so is Linux. What do you think landed
the stuff on the moon ran, it sure wasn't Micro$crash and Apple pinwheeling.
