Did you boot the PI with a HDMI? I made the image to work using headphone jack.
The user is "pi" and the password is "raspberry"
Also, when you boot the pi the first time, it will expand the micro SD card to
use the complete card. The image was compressed to save space.

Hello,
I used Raspberry as a local server for a long time, now want to play with it's
desktop.
Yesterday imaged with Ubuntu Mate, however it didn't work as I expected.
Now I've downloaded BT's talking image and booted. PI appeared on network;
however there is no speech.
Also, what is the login info for BT image?
Lastly, I bought a converter from micro HDMI to VGA+ audio jack, but not sure
it is working or not.
Do I need to install dummy display driver etc to work?

I purchased Eloquence and it does not work on ARM processors. I ended
up using Vocaliser.

What do you want to do with the pi? Ubuntu works, arch Linux works and
raspberry os works.
Eloquence is tricky, you need voxin but I do not know how updated the
eloquence voices are.
I have switched to espeak and now, cannot use anything else.

The mate desktop is one of the most accessible desktops around and you
will want to use that.
