The long version:
We you use both barcode and asset tag.
Asset tag is our asset barcode and barcode is mostly the serial number,
mostly because the OEM s/n wasn't searchable.
I think we could dismiss barcode in favor of the s/n attribute when it's
searchable (as you mention it will be in the near future)
The update script shouldn't append barcode to asset tag automatically. The
script should at least ask the user before doing such thing.
