Hi all!
Thanks for further input, I really appreciate all your ideas. To explain
what I am doing and why i missed the textbox is that I am currently trying
to get my colleagues to start using racktables to store DRP-information, I
already have a script that assembles this information every night and sends
me a "hardcopy" pdf so in case of total disaster I will have a fresh
version on how to recover all systems. Unfortunately I have not got my
colleagues to start using racktables, partly because the can not store all
information they think they need in it.
Tonight I made some tests just for fun and changed the box for strings in
the tab "Properties' from input to textbox and that seemed to work but I am
not sure if this breaks something or not... also, since the current
textboxes should remain single-lined I need to add a new attribute-type,
the question is if that is possible and if so how I can do that.

Just create and attach a text file. It displays the contents of the text

Alternatively as someone mentioned, you can create a custom attribute in
order to put in a link to a Wiki document. I believe the attributes can
only be single line text boxes or drop downs (dictionary values).
If you really want to, you can code a plugin that would show up as an
additional tab with a large multiline text box.
Kind regards,

HI!
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate your ideas and have looked into
using the comment-field and I guess it could work if no other solutions are
possible even though I would have preferred to have that information stored
as an attribute instead since I prefer the way that information is stored
in the database.

The comment box on created items should suffice for a place to put the
restore process, or as mentioned above a link to a wiki page for restoring
that box.

We also had same issue, but we just add to comment box an URL to wiki with
docs page dedicated to such server.

Hi!
I am trying to get Racktables accepted at my company but one of the
problems we face is that we have more information to store for a server
than what racktables seems to support, for example I would like to have a
small textbox where we can document the restore-process for a server.
Now I wonder if it is possible in some way to create an attribute that is
shown in a multiline textbox in some way (like the comment field) or is it
possible to add information like that in antoher way?
I have some rudimentary knowledge of php so if it is not possible today
but someone can point me in the right direction I might try to add the
function myself.
