Hi Holly,
I'm happy to be sent any zines to catalogue as I currently have no preferences
on subject area.
The Constitution looks good so far, nicely done.
Would the following additions be needed? If I think of any other suggestions
I'll let you know.
AGM Section:
* Each member has the right to vote at the AGM and holds one vote.
* All votes are on a majority basis, In the case of a tie, a second round
of voting will occur, and subsequent rounds of voting until a majority is
reached.
* The quorum for AGMS will be x% of the membership. If the quorum is not
met, then the AGM will be re-scheduled. [This will require up to date
information on membership numbers for quorum and voting purposes. I'm not sure
if you also want to get into votes by proxy etc.]
* Minutes shall be kept and these will be made available to members on
request [Unless they will be stored on a shared drive for people to read as and
when?]
Finances Section:
* Is it required to state how the financial year will run?
e.g. From: 01/01 To: 31/12 or From: 01/04 To: 31/03
Thanks and best wishes,
Simone

Subject: [qzl] Cataloguing
Hey everyone
It was ace to see so many of you at the cataloguing training workshop this
week, thanks so much, I feel very excited about getting this started with you
all. I'm ready to start sending you all zines but just wanted to check, would
you prefer to have zines assigned to you or would you prefer to be able to
choose a zine from a list?
If there are any types of zines or subject areas you would like to avoid then
feel free to mention that here or email me privately.
I know not everyone could make the cataloguing session on Monday so if you
weren't able to attend then let me know your availability over the next week
and we can run this training session again and get everyone feeling confident
about cataloguing zines.
Lastly, I mentioned this to some of you already but we are applying for some
funding for public events and also to help us catalogue. One of the
requirements for a lot of funding opportunities is having something called a
constitution which is a formal document outlining the aims of our group and how
we organise ourselves. I've attached a draft copy of the constitution here and
would appreciate if you could let me know if this is ok or if there's anything
we need to add. Once we've got a majority approval from everyone then we can go
ahead and make this our official document.
