Yosemite has some gorgeous areas, but especially in the summer, it can get
pretty crowded. Back when I lived in California, I much preferred hiking and
camping in Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks, which are just south of
Yosemite. Yosemite has some great landscapes, with huge rocks etc, but in
terms of just awe at the environment, I always felt much more when enveloped in
the midst of those huge trees, with more trees than people surrounding me.
