All the chatting in the thread about Nikons, their repair, and my bad
case of NAD (Nikon Acquisition Disorder) caused me to ponder something.
Say it's time to downsize. Perhaps you have too many cameras in (ahem)
a single format. Maybe you have (ahem) too many lenses. Maybe you need
to slim down the number of films you shoot. Whatever the case, it's
time to thin the herd...
Please answer the following questions:
For each format you shoot:
1) What camera and one or two lenses (max - no cheating) would you keep?
2) What one or two films would you keep for ALL formats?
My answers follow:
35mm: Nikon F2, 20mm f/2.8, 85mm f/1.4
6x6: Hasselblad, 60mm f/3.5 Distagon, 120mm f/4 Makro-Planar
6x9 "Baby" Speed Graphic, 101mm f/4.5 Ektar, 65mm f/5.6 Schneider
Super-Angulon
4x5 Wisner Technical Field, 150mm f/5.6 Schneider APO Symmar, 210mm f/6.8
Caltar-II
Films: Ilford FP4+, Tri-X
I'd actually prefer Fomapan 200 or Efke 100 over the FP4+ (both are 200 speed
films) BUT...
Fomapan in 120 has major quality issues and Efke is no longer made.
What say you all?
