Yes, I was able to override the antivirus program (Avast) and download the
file.The particular virus it claimed to see is a pretty bad one. I hope it
was a false positive.

Hmmm, the files were virus scanned.  I suspect this is a false positive
from
your antivirus program.  Is there a way for you to override it?
