I also used Viradon new this week for the first time, I usually tone with the Tetnal kit but as is the case you quote, agfa is easier to get. I diluted a bit more than the 24:1 and tones Agfa Fibre paper, good results but the post-toning also took me by surprise. The next day I did more toning in the diluted viradon (which had been stores in an air tight bottle over night) The toner soon went milky and left a 'film' over the prints. It was impossibble to remove once the prints were dry. As is usually the case, I then did some reading, Tim Rudman discusses this in his Toning book, it seems it happens when the toner is too diluted. I did not use a sulphite bath, but washed the prints in running water for about 2 hours. Will they be OK in the long term? I understand the concept of a stop bath but should one use the bath after the toning anyway? Cheers for now Harry ============================================================================================================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there.
