I had a similar issue many years back, sent the camera and lens in twice to
be checked. Ultimately found the hair... It was attached to one of the
rivets ( not really a rivet) on the shutter. The static of the film would
draw it into the field of view but when you inspected the camera... NADA! It
would pull away a little and be just out of focus enough to be a visual
issue but was only sharp right at the edge of the image area.
