DEAR BILL,
I found the formula for DK-60a in my Photo Lab Index...is this what
you use? It recommended using the developer straight but you use it diluted
1:3.
I didn't find any processing recommendations on the massive
development chart for DK-60 at all. Might you be willing to tell us:
1) What you like about the dev, especially 1:3? What does it give you in
your negs/prints that you like? I am always interested in trying new and/or
different devs.
2) What films do you dev in it? What results?
3) What dev times/temps/agitations do you recommend for the films that
you use.

I have no way to assure you that you would have the same results that I've
experienced, but I have a 4% solution of phenidone in 91% isopropil alcohol
that is still perfectly good, and it was mixed sometime in mid 2005. I put
the whole 10 grams in solution with the 91% isopropil alcohol right after I
got it. From the 4% solution, when needed, I draw off of it to make a 100
ml bottle of 1% solution from which I then mix up developers. I have made
4% batches twice and I'm now using the second one. I don't use it as fast
now because I found I really like DK-60 1:3 for most every film I use.
