I have no trouble with finding negatives, and my system is simple. Here is how it works.
I have a room of my house that I've made into a library. My negatives are in boxes on shelves. Let's say someone wants images taken during the Chicago Days of Rage (October 1969). Well, I know that's on the second row from the bottom far right. So, I get off the couch, cross the living room, past the dining room and into the library, look about and... uh... what did I come in here for?
