So ... I took one strip of 2 6x9 negs and ran it through PermaWash for a
few minutes and the rewashed for another 10-15 minutes.
No change as near as I can tell (at least in the wet neg - I'll look again
when dry). It has a slight purple/violet cast. Based on Richard's comments,
this would suggest an anti-light piping dye in the substrate... which isn't
supposed to be used on anything but 35mm film.
Assuming this is the case an no other explanation is found, I have a theory:
Rollei/Mako may be using the same substrate for both 35mm and 120 film
because it is - in the scheme of things - a relatively low volume product.
At this point, this is more of a curiosity. The negs print beautifully and
render in a manner consistent with a quality 100 ASA rollfilm.
