Here a few months ago, I weighed out the Metol and forgot to add it.  Got to 
test the old addage that Metol does not readily dissolve in sulfite solutions. 
It will *if* you heat the solution and stir, stir, stir.

Good advice. I'm pretty sure I measured the sulfite, though. This was a 
public experiment and someone commented upon the fact that the same 
chemical is used to make cheap wine. I almost forgot the carbonate 
before adding the potassium bromide, but in the end it didn't happen. I 
use a small electronic scale and tare isn't an issue either.
