Winlink(TM) requires a Micro$oft computer, and is the main cause of QRM on the HF bands...

Christian,

Since crossing the Pacific is serious stuff, also look into Winmor as backup.
They have more servers and are more developed than PSKMail.
Sorry to be a traitor here, PSKMailers, but he will need some good service for weather data, email etc.
We need a better modem, more servers and faster thruput for PSKmail still.
Also a weather catalog and a propagation model.

Also the Pacific Seafarer's Net

Hi All,
@ Robert- good to hear about the Filter and stuff- we will see how far
we can do QSOs, ok?

Right now we are scheduled to transit the Canal on the 2. of May- but
with panamaian bureaucray that date is somewhat fuzzy. After that we
need at least a week to buy provisions and outfit the boat for the
Pacific crossing. So the new client isn't very urgent right now. It
would be good though to test it once underway. However- what is really
important is that i can revert back to the old client if the new
client misses something critical in terms of functionality.

Once under way I try to do position beacons twice a week or so.

Thank you all for your efforts,
Christian
