Hmm but the design is right depends on how much dismantling and changing of the device you want to do. All I was saying is its a good starting point. It sounds like your going to have to build what ever you might want to get in touch with the people who made that most of the work is done. Can you give me a pointer to those APH talking signs? I searched their site, but find nothing. thanks, david ----- Original Message ----- From: Ken <mailto:whistler@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Perry To: programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, April 25, 2008 9:32 AM Subject: RE: programmable embedded device: solar powered. I don't' but if I was going to make something like this it would be an easy thing to buy one of the APH talking signs for like $35 and take it apart and incase it with a solar power source that you can find many types of. That would be the easiest way to make something like this. I'm looking for an embedded device that has a speech module with it that I can program for a talking sign at an outdoor park. Anybody have any experience with low powered solar embedded systems for this purpose? Thanks, David
