Hi: Under the Menu Bar under the Tools Menu under the Read Tab see if the View 
As Plain Text is checked. In my setup it is not checked. This might disable 
links if it is checked. I'm not sure but it would make sense.

  Here's some things that I found on this issue.

  ndows 98/2000/XP 

  To make web pages open again when you click links in emails using Windows XP 
and earlier: 

  ·        Make sure neither Outlook Express nor Internet Explorer are open. 

  ·        Select Control Panel from the Start menu. 

  ·        Click Internet Options. 

  ·        If you do not see Internet Options right away, click Network and 
Internet Connections before. 

  ·        Go to the Programs tab. 

  ·        Make sure Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the 
default browser is checked. 

  ·        Click OK. 

  ·        Close Internet Explorer. 

  ·        Re-open Internet Explorer. 

  ·        Click Yes when asked Internet Explorer asks "Internet Explorer is 
not currently your default browser. Would you like to make it your default 
browser?" 

  ·        If Internet Explorer does not ask: 

  ·        Close Internet Explorer 

  ·        Select My Computer from the Start menu. 

  ·        Choose Tools | Folder Options... from the menu. 

  ·        Go to the File Types tab. 

  ·        Highlight (NONE) URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol. 

  ·        Click Advanced. 

  ·        Highlight open. 

  ·        Click Remove. 

  ·        Click Yes. 

  ·        Click OK. 

  ·        Now click Close. 

  ·        Start Internet Explorer. 

  ·        If you use a browser other than Internet Explorer, start it and make 
sure it is the new default. 

  The above does not work? Try this: 

  ·        Now select Run... from the Start menu. 

  ·        Type "iexplore /rereg". 

  ·        Click OK. 

  Or, if that fails, continue with the following. Proceed very cautiously, 
though. 

  ·        Select Run... from the Start menu. 

  ·        Type "regsvr32 urlmon.dll". 

  ·        Click OK. 

  ·        Click OK again. 

  ·        Repeat the Start | Run... procedure with the following commands in 
this order, maybe checking after each for returning function: 

  ·        "regsvr32 shdocvw.dll" 

  ·        "regsvr32 mshtml.dll" 

  ·        "regsvr32 browseui.dll"

  Hi -- it doesn't work.

  I called FS support to see if it was a jaws issue.  We changed a setting 
using insert+v but that didn't affect the email problem.

  After some more poking around the tech guy concluded it wasn't a jaws problem 
and I was on my own.  I have been through all the options I can find that are 
remotely involved in starting IE -- IE7 is my default browser.  But I can't get 
any links to activate from within emails. Oh, with one exception: email 
addresses open a mailto link.

  So if anyone has any ideas I'm all ears.

      Hi -- I am wondering if anyone else has noticed that links embedded in 
emails no longer work -- It could be jaws 10 or it could be OE, or even the 
content of the emails, but I have been unable to click on links in emails and 
go to the appropriate page for several months now.

      If anyone has comments, please share.  I can't even swipe the link and 
paste it in IE7 to go to the links.

      It is very annoying.

        For all its virtues, it's not a very accurately named program. *smile*

        It will burn CD's, DVD's, even the new generation of blue ray discs. 
Also contrary to its name, it is advertised to run on XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
