I was thinking of being able to attach a cable or adapter or converter
to a video card in a computer then attaching the other end to a hardware
speech synthesizer and having the hardware speech synthesizer running
before booting the computer. The hope was with the right middleware
hardware I could get text the speech synthesizer could understand sent
to it including everything that went on when a user entered their cmos
to either check out settings or customize things that weren't yet
working. From what I'm finding out so far this will not be possible.
Another factor in consideration is how E.F.I. or U.E.F.I. will work in
terms of accessibility. I don't know if a solution were it even
possible will continue to be needed once U.E.F.I. takes over. If not,
then any work along these lines would at best be of very limited value.
