I think it's the only way to go, Ken. Drupal is powerful enough to host anything from a simple website to a large online community, accessible both in terms of its administration & useability, & is perfectly suited for something like this. I've partnered w/a web developer friend of Mine, Elise Lonsdale, & used drupal to make http://jawsscripting.lonsdalemedia.org We've found it to be a rewarding venture in terms of the way Drupal works. It does have somewhat of a steep learning curve initially, but I think that's the same w/all web development. Elise says it's a lot easier than other CMS's she's worked with.
