Indeed, the Microsoft web site apparently tries to guide you to the 2008
express editions.  I did find I could get to the C# 2005 setup program
with the following steps:

Go to the web page
http://www.microsoft.com/express/2005/download/default.aspx# 

Search for the word great. 

Tab twice and press Enter.

Do you know of a valid download link for VS 2005.  I've googled and
everyting leads me to VS 2008
