let say that we install 3 files on the hadd one having k kilo another having l kilo and another having m kilo after we delete th secnd file nd put on the hdd another file which has l+64 kiloin this moment this new file will have l kilo between th two files and the rest f 64 kilo o the end of the third file we instaled before. This is the fragmenttion process. In this moment we hve the forth file (the new file installed) in two fragments.

I didn't make the calculation, but if it was good, then the defragmentation doesn't change anything.The defragmentation would change things only if more than one cluster of a file is occupied only partially.
