I'm not sure of that, I have registered (I admit, 2008 express, not 2010) after the thirty days, when the window pops up I use the jaws cursor to click on the word register in the phrase register now and went from there all the way through to completion.

Hi Ian,

Did more than 30 days pass between installing the VS Express and trying to enter the registration key? If so, that copy of VS has timed out, and the only way I know to workaround the situation is to uninstall it and download again, this time with your registration key ready to hand.

Subject: Activating Visual C++ Express

Hi Listers,

I have downloaded and installed Visual C++ Express, and am now trying to get it working.

I have successfully obtained a registration key. When I run the program, it presents a field into which I can paste this key. But the only available choice is “Close”, and when I click it the program closes. When I run it again the same thing happens.

Could some one familiar with these express versions offer a suggestion about what is wrong?

Many thanks in advance for any and all ideas.

All the best,

Ian D. Nichols,
Toronto, Canada
