OK! It’s been about a month so I’ve been using ORCA. I don’t have much
experience with ORCA and Linux as I’ve just started exploring Linux world.
Try out the following:
1. Open gnome-terminal
2. Type: “orca –replace” this’ll start the new instant of ORCA. It’s much like
when you run NVDA -r switch from run dialogue box.
3. If above command doesn’t work, try running: “orca -e speech”
4. What I assume is there would be dependency issue with orca package. To fix
this, try running: “sudo apt update” and then “sudo apt upgrade”
5. Try upgrading orca: “sudo apt install gnome-orca”
Or there could be desktop environment issue.
As I’ve read about KDE desktop environment, it comes with better
accessibility. But seriously I’ve found little difficult to navigate in KDE.
System activity (much like task manager), k runner (run dialogue box) were
accessible for me. No idea about desktop and app launcher. I just wonder, is
there any app launcher in KDE?
When I press alt+f1 nothings happens.
Just let me know how it goes.
Best regards
