Hi Sharon:
You will need a basic understanding of algebra and beyond that what you will
need depends on what you want to do and where you see yourself going.
If you are a hobbiest you can do allot of programming if you have a basic
algebra background.
If you are going into the field as a profession you will likely need to get
through more advanced math to get your degree and build your problem solving
skills to develop more advanced algorithms and get your brain wired to think
in logical step by step fashon.
