Some laptops have a SPECIAL proceedure to go through to get the drivers installed so the devices are visable. My IBM was such a pain. Even IBM's web site on how to do it was wrong. Had to call tech support to get the proper sequence to install drivers, what a pain. However if this is the case (s)he will need drivers on floppies to load onto the harddrive and configure before being able to access the cdrom. -Jim- suzánne wrote: > > great idea Jim, but I don't think she has been able to get the laptop to > recognise the cdrom drive, so without that, she can't copy the win98 > directory to her hdd. > > ----- From: "Jim" > > > > Your making this way too hard. > > > > This has worked for me everytime. > > To unsub or change your email settings: > //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk > > To access our Archives: > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ > //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/
