Outlook Express allows you to create separate identities. Identities is
equivalent to what accounts are on XP. You can certainly just add another
email address to the default identity (TOOLS | ACCOUNTS | ADD > MAIL and
then fill in the blanks), but doing it this way sort of combines both emails
when sending and receiving. That's more suited for when the same person has
multiple email addresses.

With identities, when you start OE it'll ask you which profile you'd like to
log on with, and you of course pick the identity you want (you or your mom).

To create an additional identity, while in OE, go to FILE | IDENTITIES > ADD
NEW IDENTITIES. Then, fill in the blanks. The only problem with Outlook
Express in regards to identities (unless they've fixed that) is that when
you're logged in, and exit, as soon as the next person goes on it
automatically logs into the last person that was logged in... even if its
password protected. To prevent this, rather than just closing OE with the X
you would have to go to FILE | EXIT AND LOG OFF IDENTITY. This is the one
pet peeve I have with OE. Of course, they have 3rd party apps that auto-log
you off when you close it. I used one when I was using OE, but can't recall
off the top of my head what the name is. The more heftier package, Outlook,
handles identities better.
