I would bet the file still exsited and it just wrote to a open space on the 
disk, in other words the CDR was still open and had not been closed yet.

odd! can someone explain this to me? 
I added files to a cd-r tonight. 
3 of the files on the cd were corrupt, so 
I replaced them with good files. 
A box popped up - the files existed - did I want to replace them. 
I'm thinking - yeah, right - you can't replace files on a cd-r. 
but it did! how did it do that???
