Boot up using your Windows XP CD Choose recovery console rather than repair Once logged on type "fix boot". Then reboot "fix mbr" will repair the master boot record. Is there a similar way to do this on an XP Fat32 disk? Trying to do a Repair install won't work - the Repair choice is not even there......probably cause the boot files are messed up, and the CD doesn't recognize that XP is/was installed on the drive.
