ok, I did all that.  Now how to I check to make sure it took effect? I 
looked in the address book and do not see any contacts.

Well, are you and have you always been the only one on that system that has
an Address Book?  If you are, I would import all three of them just to make
sure I got all of my addresses back.

Open up the Address Book and go to File > Import > Address Book (WAB).  When
it opens, direct it to the first .WAB file you found, select it and click
the Open button (or whatever name they gave the one to proceed).  Repeat
that for the other two as well.  As it imports, it will disregard any
duplicates, so you'll end up with an address book full of entries and won't
need to go hunting for dupes.
