There is no DOS in XP.  There is a command line window that has some DOS like 
commands, but unlike Windows versions 98SE and earlier,  XP (like NT, and 2K) 
is a true operating systems and does not have DOS running underneath it. I am 
not sure that you can edit the Windows Registry form the command prompt in XP.
