I have always been curious about that. If anti-virus protection has real-time scanning capabilities, and no viruses were found after messages are downloaded, what is the purpose of scanning attachments again after downloading to a location. Isn't scanning after downloading to a folder or desktop the same scan that is conducted when the message is downloaded? I have been in the habit of never opening attachments, but downloading them to a folder and then scanning them. But, I could never remember why I was doing this... ________________________________________ From: Gman <gman.pctt@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: AVG Date: Sat, 18 Apr 2009 13:59:17 -0400 Smart Girl! Malware that spreads through email will usually come from people that you DO know, since the malware is usually designed to use the other person's Address Book in order to help it spread.
