I got a free express upgrade to Vista at the same time that HP sent me the
correct set of recovery discs. Since I had to do the recovery anyway I decided
to install Vista instead since it will be easy to get rid of.
Unfortunately, I rather like it.

But... I have a problem with the cursor when I launch Windows Media Center. It
disappears. When I move the mouse the effects of some movement is visible and
some is not. When I press the Windows key, the taskbar and start menu appear
and so does the cursor. When I click on any part of the Media Center window
though the cursor disappears again.

This happens using the laptop touchpad, the wired Microsoft optical mouse that
came with the laptop and with a Microsoft wireless laser mouse.

When I exit the media center, the cursor becomes visible again.

Compaq support had me download and install a new touchpad driver but that did
not help. I'm waiting for further suggestions from them.

Anybody here got any ideas?

Don
