An extraction from a lengthly tutorial.
Scanning:
Set the scan resolution to 300 dpi and always save as an uncompressed TIF
(tagged image format. ) Do
not save as JPG. Set to use RGB colors To reduce the size of the file you
should SCALE the scan to
roughly the final print size that you want the image to be (a ruler is handy).
Remember that a CD
booklet is approximately 4.75" square, so reduce the scan size if you are
trying to scan an 8" x 10"
