The chipset drivers would have nothing to do with this, since they don't come into play until Windows itself starts to load. I see a lot of so-called techs fall for this belief, too. The exception would be if they install a driver into CONFIG.SYS, which is very unlikely. Have you tried typing CLS to see if that reverts the screen to normal? Have you tried F8 to step through to see when the color changes? --Scott.
