Good morning everyone! Oh, wait, it's afternoon already.
Where did the morning go? I guess it was tied up in housework.

Happy Clear Skies Thursday to you all! If you are receiving this
email, you should read it all. Thanks.

Tim... I mention that I will be on the Orion Nebula
the entire night, so that if anyone wants to show other objects,
they don't have to feel obligated to stay on Orion.
I know my scope shows it very well and William will be working
my scope. He may know how but isn't allowed to change to another
object. I put it on Orion and this way he can do the scope, and i can
do Q & A and check to see that Orion is still in the FOV a couple times
a night.

Chet mentioned he wants to take Mars. And his reasoning is that his scope
is going to show it really awesome tonight. That doesn't mean one of you
can't take Mars as well. Just don't hang on it... show it and move on.

I'm not asking everyone to pic an object and stay on it. In fact,
Kevin Adams, the very  helpful young student of Jenny's, will
be there to assist. He will be walking around asking what everyone
is on, and he will do that at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. So,
when he drifts by, give him your answer. This way, I can
direct people to what object they want to see first, as they arrive.
It sounds better if I know what you are on... rather than saying
I have no clue what any of the other scopes are on.

The other thing Kevin is doing for me is passing out the PAS Fliers,
with star charts so that everyone takes home a piece of info
about PAS. Invite him to take a look through your scope. He is
there to have fun as well.

Feel free to set up anywhere you want within the observing area. Darker
area is in the N.W. corner of the observing area. I'll take the East
side of our observing area, like last time to catch those people arriving
at my handout table. Please, no vehicles in the observing area.

Tally, as of this morning, and i haven't made it through all my email,
is 26 RSVP's, plus don't forget, there's a school of80+
1st graders due to arrive probably earlier in the evening... We may
be swamped for a bit. But do what you can. With the number of scopes
we have, I think we can cover any size crowd.

Also, this event is from 7pm to 10pm.
I'm going to be there 6pm tonight if not before. The area we are doing this in
should be blocked off by 5:30, per Loretta. THANK YOU LORETTA.
So, arrive early and I"d like it if all the cars would park in the area just
East of where we are set up to block the light of arriving vehicles.
Or we can move our cars to the other side where the cars park and get us with
their lights. If we block that with our cars, even horizontally across the
parking spots to stop people from pulling in there, it will get rid of the
car lights, to some extent. Someone can help me direct parking traffic.
Drop off your scope and such, and let's get it out of our observing area
this time to make room for the scopes we have, and room for 500 people
to mingle without vehicles in the way. Pull into observing area, if you need
to, and drop off your stuff, then move car either to East of
observing area, or South, blocking those spaces where cars
can pull in and shine lights into our observing area. Your help is requested.

In fact, if Kevin gets there soon enough, I may have him do this part, with
William's help... direct traffic of our group.

I'm going through the rest of my email. B4 you go tonight, check
the forums if you want to know how many are RSVP'd to attend.
Remember, there are those who RSVP the last minute, and
so, expect more than what is listed, and those who don't bother
to RSVP.

See you all there. It will be a GREAT event!
Terri, Event Coordinator for PAS

Many thanks goes out to everyone attending tonight!

Loretta, Dave & Kevin, if you reply to this email, it will not go into the
Listserv. Let me know if you want me to post it to everyone for you.
Otherwise, reply and I will get the email, only.

PS: Tim, if Chet is not on the list serv, may I trouble you to add him. His
email
is above.

see them, but you always know they are there.
