This sounds appropriate to me. I would further suggest that PAS membership
contact Terri privately about their personal donations, and that PAS make the
donation in Bob’s name.

Good morning all,

Based on Mike's latest information, it would appear that there will be no
formal service for Bob and that there will not be any need for financial
support.

If we are still moved to recognize Bob's life and interests in some
meaningful way, I'd like to propose that we make a donation in Bob's name to
a meaningful charity.

I've found a charity that I believe Bob would support and get behind. It's
called the National Math and Science Initiative. Here is the charity's
mission statement:

NMSI’s mission is to improve student performance in the critical subjects of
science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). NMSI’s programs transform
teaching, transform schools and are transforming education in the United
States.

I researched the charity via Charity navigator, a non-profit organization
that rates the viability of charities and the NMSI receives a 4 star rating,
the highest that Charity Navigator issues. This means that over 90% of
donations go to the charity's proposed programs and initiatives with less
than 3% going to administrative costs and salaries.

Here is the charity's website:
http://www.nms.org/Home.aspx

Here is charity navigator's ratings page:

http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=13083#.VUZv5VwsE20

I'll be happy to bring more information to the next PAS meeting if we feel
this is worth exploring..

I'm just looking for ways to honor Bob's work and life. I'm certainly open to
your feedback.
Thanks,
Kevin

I found Mike Senzer 360-592-5408 and lmsenzer@gamil . Police said Bob's
place was locked from inside, no fowl play and may have died Monday night.
Mike Senzer will cremate Bob, no service. Ingrid or Jerry Roffeld
602-230-5607 might organize a memorial service. Mike Senzer will fly in late
May 16th to get Bob's car and things.

Thanks Jenny. I'll mention that to Loretta in case she is not in the loop
yet.

I passed this along to a few of my colleagues in Science at PVCC and they
are also saddened by the news of Bob's passing. I will contact the Math
Division Admin Assistant on Monday to she if she has an address on file. I
think we may be more likely to get information from the informal contact
sheet than HR for legal reasons. I think he last taught for them in 2010.
She may decide to send something out to the Math Division.

Absolutely. Only having been out of the loop for a few hours, it is
heartwarming that Bob has such friends. Please let me know the status and
anything about a service and burial where I can help in person and
financially.
