Hi Vicki,
Louise hates the fact I collect kitchen gadgets (have bought a few duds over
the years) and arched an eyebrow at me when I came home weekend before last
with an airfryer. I had vacillated on whether to buy one but an article in SMH
recently finally convinced me. I picked up the one from InstantPot (the
Vortex…) as I love their pressure cooker. So far, results have been good for
roast potatoes and chips.
Have you tried doing a whole chicken in your as I’d be interested to know how
that turned out? I’ll try out the other settings over the next few weeks.

Subject: [oz-food] steak and spuds
Hi all,
It was just an ordinary day for us yesterday, but being a public holiday I
actually cooked. I don’t cook on work days. We had some eye fillet steaks so I
made Steak Diane, which bizarrely I had never attempted before. I am really not
good at cooking steak to particular doneness levels, but these were perfect –
medium for me and well done (ugh) without being dried out for Dohn. The sauce
(recipe from The Joy of Cooking) was yummy, but would use a little less brandy
another time because that was the dominant flavour and I prefer flavours to
meld a bit more! The green stuff is just piles of spiralised zucchini with
spring onion and cheese, cooked in the air fryer oven alongside the spuds. A
super easy side.
Vicki. :-)
