It was a great meal. We had it at what is quite a traditional time for
Thanksgiving lunch, about 2pm by the time the turkey is out of the
oven, rested and carved.
The Blanc de Blanc is very very good. Yes, it's certainly unusual to
see an Australian sparkling whine aged so long. It's won quite a
number of medals at shows. The producer (Hollydene Estate)
released it around 2014 and we've been drinking it since then. It's
rather expensive (AUD$85) but we belong to their wine club so
get a 30% discount. Hollydene also produce some wonderful
aged Semillons, some back to 2013. Aged Semillon is one of our
favourite wine styles, a really great food wine.

I have not seen many Aussie sparklings that are laid down for so long.
Was it a recent museum release or did you have great patience waiting for it?

green beans, gravy, cranberry sauce and some nice bubbly.
Of course we ate too much ...
