Well done and good luck Sam, I hope they settle in and stay.

Yes, I walked them in late last night after 7pm, they seemed to know the
drill. Majority walked in without lingering by 9.30pm the last 30 wanted to
stay on the entrance, there will always a few naughty ones. I brushed them in
with a goose feather and replaced the landing board.
I find them taking orientation flight this morning. I hope they like the hive
and decide to stay. Time will tell.
As ever thanks again for the timely advice Ann and Paul on this. I would also
like to add that by reading all the comments Q&As during the passed months has
helped a lot including the jokes.

Hi Sam, congratulations on collecting them. (Actually it was Lynne's idea to
put the box over them but I am happy to take the credit )
I would definitely hive them tonight for the reasons Ann gives,as long as they
have had a couple of hours to settle. If they are calm they should walk
straight in. The reason for delaying sometimes is that they get shaken and
agitated by the drive.
The weather tomorrow changing to colder and wetter, will be a huge incentive
for them to stay in the hive! I would not worry about absconding if you hive
them gently.

They have been on the ground since yesterday. What I am afraid is they might
abscond if I hive them too soon. I agree they are in a cardboard box getting
hot. I would like to walk them into the hive this evening.

How long have they been on the ground Sam? You will need to keep them cool if
you're going to leave them in the box until tomorrow night. Personally I'd do
it tonight especially if they've been there a while. The weather is going to
get much colder and wetter over the next few days.

Hi everyone,
I went to collect the swarm this afternoon did what Paul said . I put a box
over the swarm most of them walk in by themselves except quite a lot were
reluctant to depart from the warm dark ground. I scoped them up by hand and
closed the box leaving a small gap for the last few to fly into the box.
Unfortunately not all went in waited for nearly two and a half hour. I said to
the Thompsons I can come back to collect the last few if they are worried.
My next step is to walk them into the hive tomorrow evening is that right? Is
there anything I need to do now?

Is anyone going for this? All you may need to do is place a box over the swarm
