Hi, everyone,
Saturday I called my next-door neighbor to wish her happy birthday. Her
niece answered the phone so I thought she had come from Chicago to visit
Pat. No such thing. Pat was in Chicago and her niece is staying in her
apartment. Now it gets even weirder. Some people came yesterday and put
Pat's things all over the floor. It looked more like a robbery instead of
someone moving out. Pat's niece called her for me so I could talk to her. I
asked Pat if she was in Chicago to visit relatives or if she was moving to
Illinois permanently. She said the move was permanent. She didn't bother to
let anybody here know--not even the manager or section 8 housing. What I'm
wondering is this. Why would Pat's phone still be connected? Why would her
things be scattered all over the floor of her apartment? We're all wondering
what the right thing would be to do. She had originally planned to move out
in November of last year but she changed her mind---that is until now. I
know she wants to be close to her family and that's
understandable--especially since she's elderly. It's just the idea that she
didn't let anybody know she was leaving.
