You only need to disable the recyclebin for Goldengate in Oracle 10G if using
DDL replication. From Oracle 11G onwards it's safe to leave it on.

I usually disable the recyclebin, it has always been more annoying than useful.
And if you are using Goldengate, the documentation explicitly requires the
recyclebin be disabled.
