ORA-00201 during startup

Hi experts,

We inadvertently startup database bad compatible parameter. 11.2.0.4
instead of 11.2.0.3.

When trying to restart it using the good init file, we got this error.

ORA-00201: control file version 11.2.0.4.0 incompatible with ORACLE version
11.2.0.3.0
ORA-00202: control file: '../.../oracle/control/control01.ctl'

Is there a way to start the database without upgrading/downgrading
procedure?

PS: the datafiles header contain already the new 11.2.0.4 compatible
parameter.
