My $.02 on this, offered only in hopes that it will help...

It's easy enough for me to hit the <delete> key. But I'm finding myself
hitting it now anytime I see the name "Juan" or "Mladen" in the "from"
column. That's probably not fair to either gentleman, but it's what
things have come to for me. I'm simply not interested in unmotivated
tips (I can get those on the web), and I'm not interested in arguments
that have nothing to do with questions about Oracle software (I can get
those on TV).

For the time being, the problem is not so bad that I'm thinking about
leaving the list, but Oracle-L today is definitely not as good a list as
the one I joined a couple of years ago. What I expect from the list is a
place where people can ask relevant questions about Oracle software and
discuss the answers to those questions. It's certainly fair for the list
to evolve outside of those bounds if the people on the list want it to,
but--speaking personally--that's not what I'm here for.

Subject: Daily/Weekly Oracle Tips

May be it's not the right time to mention this, but I previously =
wondered about the need of those tips.

We all know the source, know where to find them and I guess we now how =
to use browsers.

For some reason I feel it's something that is forced on the list, as if
=
it's paid commercial by the source of these tips.

May be what really bothers me a bit (and may be others) is converting =
this list to some kind of boring routine or weekly newspaper.

The other thing is the feeling that some people give themselves the =
right or the ownership of the list.

We can defend the rights to do so, but on the other hand the list would
=
be dead if higher percentage of the list users started to do the same.

There are few individuals out there that are much more skillful and =
knowledgably and in the same time have rich websites that never worked =
that way or forced their methods on us.

The list was always a great value for us, so I hope people on this list
=
work it out to keep it that way.

Thanks

Waleed
