Thanks Tom,
Also the export and import of statistics isn't too shabby.  I thought
there might be problems with the way Analyze collect stats for non-range
partitioned segments, but I guess I'm wrong there (unless I can prove
otherwise ;) ).

One big advantage is that dbms_stats can gather stats in parallel.
Analyze cannot.

But a bigger reason is that analyze goes away in 10g ( if I remember
correctly).
