A few thoughts: 1) Did you run autoconfig after changing the apps password? Yes, I hate it when people provide that to me as a first solution to every EBS config problem I have, but it helps in a surprisingly large percentage of incidents. 2) Does your new apps password contain any special characters that might have been interpolated by the shell? I once spent an entertaining afternoon untangling myself from the mistake of using a $ in my apps password. 3) That "DCPW null" errr looks like a good MOS search term. :) 4) Anything more interesting in the referenced adadmin.log file? 5) I'm not surprised that the database account status is "OPEN." you get an entirely different error message when the apps account is locked.
