What I heard from Heidelberg yesterday is that there is no short term cache on the system, the database is not written that way. Inasmuch as the HRT, OIS Winstation and other systems do have a backdoor system to protect you short term for "accidental deletion" I am dismayed to learn the Spectralis does not. It is way too easy to delete images on the Spectralis by mistake. Heidelberg needs to address this issue. There should be a clear indication of which images you are deleting followed by prompt. Their own HRT software has such safeguards. It's been a few days and we have turned off the system multiple times. Where on the hard drive would I search? Does Heidelberg apply a specific name to the folder? I would try searching the harddrive to see if you can find the file. Whatever you do, do not turn off the system. Some of these devices have a backup cache and closing the program or restarting the machine clears that cache.
